En un relat de H. Murakami titulat Crema*, un vell misteriós li diu al protagonista, sense cap comentari previ:
—Es tracta d’un cercle amb molts centres i sense perímetre, sense circumferència.
I el jove, desconcertat, li pregunta:
—Existeixen cercles així?
I el vell respon:
—És clar que sí, però són inconcebibles.
Passa el temps i el jove, que no para de donar-li voltes conclou: “Aquest estrany cercle és dins nostre.”

—Se trata de un círculo con muchos centros y sin perímetro, sin circunferencia.
Y el joven, desconcertado, le pregunta:
—¿Existen círculos así?
Y el viejo responde:
—Claro que sí, pero son inconcebibles.
Pasa el tiempo y el joven, que no cesa de darle vueltas, concluye: "Este extraño círculo está dentro de nosotros".

In einer Geschichte von H. Murakami mit dem Titel Crème de la Crème, ein mysteriöser alter Mann sagt ohne jedweden vorherigen Kommentar zum Protagonisten:
—Es handelt sich um einen Kreis mit vielen Zentren und ohne Umfang.
Der junge Mann fragt ihn verblüfft:
—Gibt es solche Kreise?
Der alte Mann erwidert:
—Ja sicher, aber sie sind unfassbar.
Die Zeit vergeht und der junge Mann, der nicht aufhört darüber nachzudenken, fasst zusammen: “Dieser seltsame Kreis befindet sich in uns”.

In a story by H. Murakami entitled Flor y nata*, a mysterious old man tells the protagonist, without prior comment: "It is a circle with many centers and no perimeter, no circumference".
